TradeTendr provides software to contracting businesses. This policy explains what we do with personal information, both for the contractors who use our software and for homeowners who request an estimate through it.
Who this covers
There are two distinct relationships, and the difference matters:
- Contractors who sign up for TradeTendr. We are the data controller for their account information.
- Homeowners and prospects whose details a contractor collects using TradeTendr. Here the contractor is the controller and we are the processor , we hold and process that data on their instructions. If you asked a contractor for a quote, your relationship is with them; see If you requested a quote below.
What we collect
From contractors
- Name, email address, company name, and role
- Authentication data: a password hash, or a Google account identifier if you sign in with Google
- Team member names, emails, and permission levels you invite
- Configuration you enter: pricing, product lines, message templates, widget settings
- Basic usage and error data so we can keep the service working
From homeowners, on a contractor's behalf
- Name, email address, phone number, and property address
- Measurements and project details entered into a quote widget
- Photos, where a contractor has enabled photo upload
- Text message history between you and the contractor
- SMS consent records: see the TCPA Disclosure for exactly what these contain
- The IP address and page a quote request came from
We do not collect payment card details from homeowners. TradeTendr does not process consumer payments.
How we use it
- To operate the service: produce quotes, track leads, send follow-ups the contractor configured
- To sync with the tools a contractor has connected
- To notify a contractor when a new lead arrives
- To keep records we are legally required to keep, including SMS consent
- To secure the service and investigate abuse
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Connected services
Contractors can connect third-party tools. Each connection is explicit, uses OAuth, and can be revoked at any time from the integrations settings page. We request the narrowest access each integration needs.
| Service | What we access | Why |
|---|---|---|
| QuickBooks Online | Invoices and company info | Show invoiced, paid, and outstanding amounts per customer |
| Jobber | Jobs, quotes, and client contact details | Detect estimates that have gone unanswered |
| Housecall Pro | Jobs and customer details | Same as above |
| CompanyCam | Projects and photo metadata | Attach job photos to records |
| Google Calendar | Create events on your primary calendar | Book appointments from a lead record |
| Google Sign-In | Name, email address, profile ID | Account sign-in only |
| Twilio | Phone numbers and message content | Deliver SMS |
| Amazon Web Services | Email delivery and file storage | Send notifications, store photos |
Access tokens are encrypted at rest. Disconnecting an integration deletes the stored tokens. Note that disconnecting does not retroactively delete data already synced into your TradeTendr account.
AI processing
Some features use AI, for example answering questions about your own financial data. These requests are routed through our AI gateway to third-party model providers.
- Each contractor's AI workspace is provisioned separately.
- Your data is not used to train third-party models. We use providers under terms that prohibit training on customer content.
- AI features are opt-in by use; if you do not use them, nothing is sent.
Who we share with
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers who run parts of the service (hosting, email delivery, SMS delivery, error monitoring, AI processing) under contract and only as needed
- Services a contractor has explicitly connected, as listed above
- Legal authorities, where we are legally required to
- An acquirer, if the business is sold; you would be notified before your data became subject to a different policy
How long we keep it
- Account data: for as long as the account is open, then 90 days after closure
- Lead and quote data: until the contractor deletes it or closes the account
- SMS consent records: retained after opt-out, because we may need to demonstrate that consent was properly obtained
- Opt-out records: retained indefinitely, so a number that opted out is never messaged again
- Error and security logs: 90 days
Security
- All traffic is encrypted in transit over TLS
- Integration tokens and AI keys are encrypted at rest
- Passwords are hashed; we cannot read them
- Each contractor's data is isolated at the database layer and scoped on every query
- Support access to a contractor's account is logged
No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users without undue delay.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights; we extend them to everyone.
Email privacy@tradetendr.com. We respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
If you requested a quote from a contractor
Your information is held by TradeTendr on that contractor's behalf. To have it corrected or deleted, contact the contractor directly, they control it. If you cannot reach them, email privacy@tradetendr.com with the contractor's name and we will pass the request on and follow up.
To stop text messages, reply STOP to any message. That works immediately and does not require contacting anyone. See the TCPA Disclosure.
Children
TradeTendr is a business tool and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn we have, we delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update the date at the top when this changes. For material changes we will notify account holders by email before the change takes effect.
